Still Standing at Purcell Marian High School

Hello again! For Black History Month Purcell Marian High School in Cincinnati, Ohio held a program called Still Standing. This program was so nicely pieced together and many came to support the Black Student Union, which is the student group that organized the event with Briana Graham as president. There were performances by the Highsteppers Drill Team, Destiny Griffith beautifully sang "Joyful, Joyful", The Black Male Movement Institute Step Team, So Fly Dance Team, Dunamis Mime Ministry, Jay White a self published author and film producer and an insightful man of many talents, performed several original pieces, and I performed as well. I recited an original poem entitled "Caged Concrete." The entire concept of the program was a very creative way to remember what paved the way for us today all the while embracing the essence of now; remembering our history all the while preparing for the future. Be blessed.

Author, J. White, and I
